Medications, shots and prep work

We went in last week for all of our medications.  In preparing for the visit my research was primarily the Center for Disease Control website at: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/cambodia

Gil was brave, he got his tetanus shot and we all are on Typhoid medications now.  You take a series of four pills between meals on an empty stomach (2 hours after eating/drinking and one hour before) every other day.  It is pretty tricky so for me I have been waking up in the middle of the night to take mine.

In addition to tetanus, typhoid, you need to be up to date on Hepatitis A and B.  MMR, Chicken Pox, and assorted other things.

2 days prior to departure we will start taking our Malaria Medication (Malarone) and take it while there and 7 days after.  We also received antibiotics for travelers diarrhea due to foodborn illness.

Our Mosquito nets came in and the parts for our projects with the children have arrived.  We are stocking up on soccer balls, balloon animals, face paints, flip flops etc....

In addition all of our clothing will be treated with Permetherin prior to departure to dissuade Mosquito bites.
